Students interested in the Kamloops Yoga Boot Camp—but can’t afford the $247 registration fee have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship, giving them 50 per cent off.
“I decided to offer a student scholarship, giving them a full 50% off my best price for the camp in exchange for a small amount of their help,” said Katrina Ariel, who runs the boot camp.
Help would include distributing posters or helping out at camp, like taking attendance.
The Kamloops Yoga Boot Camp for women is a blend of playful fitness and yoga that helps reduce stress.
“We’ve got nothing against guys, we just don’t want to work out with them at 5:45 in the morning,” said Ariel. Having all females “helps the group grow as a supportive, encouraging and safe community.”
“I will offer as many scholarships as I can, given the amount of space available, so it depends on how many people register each session,” she said.
The next session begins Monday, March 21 and goes until Thursday, April 14. Classes are one hour. The camp includes help with proper alignment, nutritional support, costume day and an organic bamboo T-shirt.
